موزه جنگ خرمشهر که هر ساله مورد استقبال مسافران نوروزی و کاروان‌های راهیان نور قرار می‌گیرد، مکانی است که شما را به دل جنگ می‌برد.
«موزه جنگ خرمشهر» نخستین و پربازدیدترین موزه دفاع مقدس کشور است که میراث تلخ اما گران‌بهای هشت سال جنگ تحمیلی را در سه گالری مختلف (خرمشهر پیش از جنگ، خرمشهر در جنگ و خرمشهر پس از جنگ) در معرض نمایش عموم قرار داده است.
موزه جنگ خرمشهر با آثار ارزشمند به جا مانده از هشت سال جنگ تحمیلی، مانند کتاب تاریخی مصّور، دلاوری‌ها و رشادت‌های مردم مظلوم کشور را به گردشگران یادآوری می‌کند.
بازدید از چنین موزه‌ای سبب می‌شود که ما با فصل غم‌انگیزی از تاریخ کشور آشنا شده و به خود و مردم برای خلق چنین نمایش قهرمانانه‌ای افتخار کنیم.
قدمت بیش از ۹۰ ساله موزه جنگ خرمشهر
در مورد ساختمان موزه جنگ خرمشهر باید گفت که این بنا نخستین بار در سال ۱۳۰۹ طراحی و احداث شد و در اختیار شرکت نفت قرار گرفت اما پس از آغاز جنگ تحمیلی و اشغال بخش‌هایی از خرمشهر، این ساختمان بلند و مستحکم به دلیل موقعیت مکانی خود به ساختمان دیده بانی نیروهای بعثی مبدل گشت.
این ساختمان که خاطرات بسیار تلخی را از جنگ تحمیلی در دل خود جای داده بود، در سال ۱۳۷۵ بازسازی و به موزه جنگ خرمشهر مبدل گشت.
آثار تاریخی موزه جنگ خرمشهر
موزه جنگ خرمشهر در سه بخش مختلف، آثار تاریخی ارزشمندی را به نمایش گذاشته است. از اصابت نخستین خمپاره به شهر تا تصاویر خاطره‌انگیز لحظه آزادی، موزه جنگ خرمشهر آثار ارزشمند و فراوانی را از اشغال این شهر داغ‌دیده در درون دیوارهای فروریخته خود جای داده است.
حتی برخی از دیوار نوشته‌های اشغالگران هنوز همان طور دست نخورده باقی مانده است: «آمده ایم تا بمانیم» جمله‌ای است که بر یکی از دیوارهای این موزه خودنمایی می‌کند؛ جمله‌ای که نیت پلید اشغالگران را نشان می‌دهد و به ما یادآوری می‌کند که چه خون‌هایی بر دامن این شهر ریخته شد تا چنین جمله‌ای محقق نشود.
موزه جنگ خرمشهر از چند سالن مختلف با موضوع مقاومت، اشغال، آزادسازی و بازسازی تشکیل شده است. هر یک از این سالن‌ها به زیبایی با آثار گرانبهایی نظیر متعلقات شهدا (کوله پشتی، پوتین، اسلحه، قمقمه، البسه و غیره)، تصاویر مستند، تندیس‌های زیبا، نقاشی‌های دفاع مقدس و تجهیزات جنگی مزین شده‌اند و به شایستگی گوشه‌ای از این حماسه بزرگ را پیش چشمان ما به تصویر می‌کشد.
موزه جنگ خرمشهر با برخورداری از ساختمانی با مساحت ۲ هزار و ۴۰۰ متر و امکاناتی نظیر سالن نمایش فیلم، سرویس بهداشتی، بوفه، پارکینگ و کتابخانه‌ای با سه هزار جلد کتاب قادر است هر گردشگری را ساعت‌ها سرگرم دیدنی‌های خود کند.
