در وزن 82 کیلوگرم علیرضا مهمدی در دور اول با نتیجه 8 بر صفر جیهون اوزدوردیف از ترکمنستان را مغلوب کرد. وی در دور بعد و در مرحله یک چهارم نهایی با نتیجه 9 بر 1 شامیل باتیروف از قزاقستان را از پیش رو برداشت و به مرحله نیمه نهایی راه یافت. وی در این دیدار با نتیجه 4 بر 1 گلا بولکوادزه از گرجستان را شکست داد و به دیدار فینال راه یافت.
مُهمَدی در دیدار فینال با نتیجه 7 بر 5 آلپرن بربر از ترکیه را مغلوب کرد و به مدال طلا دست یافت تا کشتى فرنگى ایران یک پایان خوش را در قرقیزستان تجربه کند.
