این کتاب حاوی اخبار مربوط به اجرای کنسرت در ایران از قدیمی‌ترین دوران در عصر قاجار تا پایان سال 1330 خورشیدی است. در این کتاب هرگونه مطلب مرتبط با کنسرت، اعم از اعلان‌ها، گزارش‌ها و نقدهای به چاپ رسیده در روزنامه‌ها و مجلات مختلف که بعضی از آنان کمیاب و یا دیریابند گردآوری شده است.
با توجه به این که موضوع کنسرت، بخش مهمی از تاریخ موسیقی ایران را تشکیل می‌دهد، این کتاب در شناخت تاریخ موسیقی و آگاهی از فعالیت موسیقی‌دانان پیشگام ایران تأثیر بسزایی دارد.

همچنین این کتاب اطلاعات مهمی درباره فعالیت‌های هنری هنرمندان ارمنی، قفقازی و اروپایی مانند مادام پری آقابابف، مادام سیرانوش، گل‌صباح خانم و … که در ایران به اجرای کنسرت پرداخته‌اند.
